HE OUTPOST Official Trailer (2020)

A band of brothers faces impossible probabilities in the trailer for The Outpost

Screen Media has released a trailer for their upcoming war film THE OUTPOST. Based on Jake Tapper’s best-selling book detailing actual events, the film directed by Rod Lurie (THE LAST CASTLE, THE CONTENDER) stars Scott Eastwood (SUICIDE SQUAD, THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS), Caleb Landry Jones (GET OUT) and Orlando Bloom (CARNIVAL ROW, LORD OF THE RINGS) as three soldiers who find themselves face to face with impossible odds while sailing in an active war zone located in Afghanistan.

Here is the official synopsis of THE OUTPOST:

In this military thriller, based on the New York Times bestseller non-fiction, The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor by CNN’s Jake Tapper, a tiny unit of American soldiers, alone at a distance from Combat Outpost Keating, located in deep in the Three Mountain Valley in Afghanistan, battles to defend against an overwhelming force of Taliban fighters in a coordinated attack. The Battle of Kamdesh, as it was called, was the bloodiest American engagement in the 2009 Afghan war and Bravo Troop 3-61 CAV became one of the most decorated units in the 19-year conflict.

Scott Eastwood depicts Staff Sergeant Clint Romesha and Caleb Landry Jones depicts specialist Ty Carter (who also appears in the film), who received the medal of honor. Orlando Bloom plays Captain Ben Keating. Director Rod Lurie, himself a former soldier and West Point graduate, cast several other US Army veterans in various roles, including Henry Hughes and Daniel Rodriguez.

Oscar-nominated writers Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson (THE FIGHTER) adapted the story for the screen, produced by Millennium Media, with producers Paul Merryman, Marc Frydman, Jeffrey Greenstein, Jonathan Yunger, Paul Tamasy and Les Weldon.
Actors Jack Kesy (12 STRONG), Taylor John Smith (SHARP OBJECTS) and Milo Gibson (HACKSAW RIDGE, GANGSTER LAND), among others, join the aforementioned trio in their battle against the Taliban.

THE OUTPOST is ready to put boots on the ground in theaters from July 3, 2020.
